Built in 1615 by Bernardino Bernardini, the villa has remained in the hands of the same family for more than four centuries.
Originally conceived as a peaceful country residence just outside the city walls of Lucca, it still preserves much of its original character, offering couples an atmosphere that feels elegant without ever becoming formal.
The estate is surrounded by mature gardens designed for quiet walks and conversation. Hidden among centuries-old trees lies the Secret Garden, while the historic lemon house, ornamental fountains and the unique green theatre create a variety of settings for ceremonies, aperitifs and evening celebrations.

The Wedding
Gloria and Renato chose Villa Bernardini for a celebration that unfolded naturally through the estate's historic spaces, each setting marking a different moment of the day.
Their ceremony took place on the front lawn, framed by the elegant façade of the seventeenth-century villa. As the vows came to an end, the newlyweds crossed through the villa and emerged into the gardens behind the house, where family and friends welcomed them for the aperitivo.
The reception continued in the rear gardens before moving to dinner beside the Limonaia. Surrounded by centuries-old trees and centred around the villa's elegant fountain, this area offers one of the estate's most atmospheric settings for an outdoor celebration, combining the intimacy of a private garden with the timeless character of a Tuscan historic residence.
As daylight faded into evening, the celebration flowed effortlessly between the gardens and the Limonaia, ending with dancing beneath the Tuscan sky.
